Monitoring

The review of facilities and measures to ensure the protection of fish and their migrations is becoming increasingly important in consequence of numerous malinvestments in the past. The Institut für angewandte Ökologie GmbH disposes on a great methodological repertoire, supplemented by creative special developments and decades of experience in carrying out scientifically profound and reliable examinations of all size.

For the fish ecological monitoring at the weir Geesthacht at the Elbe river we were awarded in 2015 by the American Fisheries Society.

• Monitoring of fish damage caused by the Kesselstadt hydropower plant at the river Main: Concept for evaluating the effects of a fish-friendly optimization of the turbine.
• Monitoring of the double slot pass and the bypass channel including the additional eel ladders at the weir Geesthacht at the Elbe river.
• Fish ecological monitoring of the modification of the culvert at the Neukronenberger road in the Ölbach creek.
• Monitoring of fish damage at the cooling water inlet of the coal power plant Moorburg at the harbor of Hamburg.
